Nepal, the “Roof of the World,” is home to eight of the ten tallest mountains on Earth, including the iconic Mount Everest. Tucked between China, India, and Bhutan, this Himalayan gem offers some of the world’s most stunning alpine scenery. With over 80% of its population practicing Hinduism, Nepal—alongside Bali—is one of the few Hindu-majority regions outside India. Buddhism also plays a significant cultural role. In 2008, Nepal ended its monarchy and became a federal democratic republic, embracing a multi-party system.
